Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, Rylan Schmitt moved around a lot- first around Texas and then New Mexico in his early teens, traveling back and forth between there and his hometown. He also spent sometime overseas in Germany. This lack of stability resulted in him being pulled out of public school and experimenting with both online school and homeschool. These experiences brought on severe panic attacks for the majority of his younger years and was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder.

In September 2017, sufferplenty dropped his first single and has since garnered over 400,000 streams across all streaming platforms. Influenced by artists like 93FEETOFSMOKE, guardin, yung van, Lil Peep, Juice WRLD, sadeyes, Wicca Phase Springs Eternal, Lil Happy Lil Sad, Oliver Francis, XXXTENTACION and many more, he has been able to develop his own unique sound and image over the past 6 years.
